The Lady Is A Tramp
((I love the old classic feel of this!))
I enjoy Lady Gaga’s singings in this here video and her hair is kind of cool also.
I know this video is such old news now, but I was just revisiting it… Lady Gaga before she was called Lady Gaga.
I’m not going to be one of those people who is like LOOK AT WHAT SHE COULD’VE BEEN IF SHE WASN’T SO WEIRD because if she is passionate about the whole performance art-y thing she’s got now, she’s certainly successful at it and more power to her for making a living in a tough business… but I think it’s clear that she is one of those artists who are not in pop music because they needs to hide behind anything, and that’s always nice.
…………………….. Whoa.
Lady Gaga and her back-up singers warming up backstage before the show with an acapella rendition of “Born This Way”.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson covers Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro.” Sort of.
7 Musicians or Bands Who Were the Soundtrack to My 2010
#6 Lady Gaga
I’m not typically a big fan of the kind of pop/dance music that Lady Gaga is known for, nor am I usually attracted to musicians who are into spectacle. However, I think a lot of that aversion to those styles of performing comes from this feeling that pop/dance music tends to be more vapid or less genuine and that flashy performances are often an attempt to distract from that. I never get that with Lady Gaga, though. She is a pop/dance artist that doesn’t have to be a “guilty pleasure” for me. It seems to me that an artist who actually can and does perform their songs live and who writes lyrics that don’t outright glorify racism, sexism, or homophobia should just be the minimum of what we expect out of the music we support most… but unfortunately that isn’t the case.
I got distracted from writing by reading the bios of the groups that’ll be on this season of The Sing-Off, which includes this group, On the Rocks.
Yeah. America’s Best Dance Crew is my other competition show love, though I’ve done a bad job of keeping up with it after season one.
